La Befana
①Mi sveglio presto e mi preparo con la scopa, il mantello e le scarpe consumate.
I wake up early and get ready with my broom, cloak, and worn-out shoes.
②Controllo la lista dei bambini buoni e cattivi.
I check the list of good and naughty children.
③Riempio i sacchi con dolci, regali e carbone zuccherato.
I fill the sacks with sweets, gifts, and sugar coal.
④Volo sopra i tetti per consegnare i regali durante la notte.
I fly over the rooftops to deliver gifts during the night.
⑤Lascio i dolci nelle calze dei bambini che si sono comportati bene.
I leave sweets in the stockings of children who behaved well.
⑥Metto il carbone zuccherato nelle calze dei bambini che sono stati disobbedienti.
I put sugar coal in the stockings of children who were disobedient.
⑦Pulisco le case dove sono passata per portare fortuna.
I clean the houses where I have been to bring good luck.
